Samedi le Service Jumelages et Relations Extérieures de la Ville de Nevers avec les volontaires Aïcha Castioni, Clément Thomas and Jovita Uzdavinyte ont organisé une session d’information pour les jeunes intéressés par le dispositif du Service volontaire européen (SVE). Pendant cet événement interactif au PAC des Ouches, les jeunes ont eu l’opportunité non seulement d’obtenir une meilleure connaissance du SVE, mais aussi de découvrir des cultures étrangères.
Par des jeux, des ateliers (« workshops ») et des présentations, les organisateurs ont présenté le SVE à 18 participants impliqués. Le Service Jumelages et Relations Extérieures de la Ville de Nevers a une accréditation pour le dispositif du SVE depuis 2009 ; actuellement, elle coordonne la mobilité de volontaires de Nevers vers d’autres pays et elle accueille des volontaires européens à Nevers. Pendant l’évènement ce samedi la volontaire de Lituanie Jovita Uzdavinyte a présenté les objectifs et conditions les plus importants dans le SVE. Par ailleurs, elle a partagé sa première impression en France et les différences entre la vie en Lituanie et en France. Ensuite, Aïcha Castioni et Clément Thomas, anciens volontaires européens, ont raconté leurs activités en Islande et Roumanie et montré leursphotos magnifiques. Dans cet environnement informel, les participants ont pu discuter et poser des questions sur l’expérience de vie à l’étranger.
Grâce à l’environnement multiculturel les jeunes ont « goûté » les cultures nouvelles à la foisdans le sens réelet figuréde ce mot. Pendant le déjeuner collectif les participants ont essayé des plats lituaniens, indiens et français. Par ailleurs, ils ont pu partager leurs expériences et opinions concernant la vie à l’étranger. A la finde la journée, Clément a dit : « Je suis très content d’entendre parler anglais à Nevers. Je n’avais jamaisimaginé qu’ici… à Nevers, il y avait beaucoup de jeunes gens ouverts d’esprit, qui veulent élargir leurs horizonsvers l’étranger. Je pense que maintenant l’anglais est devenu un instrument pour cela. « J’aimerais que de tels événements soient plus souvent organisés à Nevers » Jovita a ajouté, « les présentations culturelles pourraient devenir des événements réguliers, qui peuvent donner des opportunités aux jeunes Neversois de découvrir un environnement multiculturel et, bien sûr, de pratiquer l’anglais ».

On Saturday the Office of Twinning and International relations of “Ville de Nevers”with the volunteers Aïcha Castioni, Clément Thomas and Jovita Uzdavinyte organized an informational session for the youth of Nevers interested in the European Voluntary Service (EVS). During this interactive event, which took place in the “PAC des Ouches”, the youngsters had an opportunity not only to get a better knowledge in the EVS program but also to discover the foreign cultures.
Through the games, workshops and presentations the organizers introduced the EVS program to 18 concerned participants. The office of Twining and International relations of “Ville de Nevers”has been realizing the EVS program since 2009, and now it is coordinating the mobility of the volunteers both from and to Nevers. During the Saturday’s event a volunteer from Lithuania, Jovita Uzdavinyte, presented the main goals and terms of the EVS program, besides, she shared her first impression of French life style and the differences living in Lithuania. Later, the former volunteers Aïcha Castioni and Clément Thomas told about their projects in Iceland and Romania and showed their stunning photos. In an informal environment the participants had the opportunity to ask the questions and dispel their doubts concerning going abroad.
As a result of multicultural environment, the youth of Nevers “tasted” the new cultures both in the real and figurative sense of this word. During a collective lunch the participants tried Lithuanian, Indian and French meals. Moreover, they could share their experiences and points of view. After the event Clément said: “I am very happy to hearing English in Nevers. I have never imagined that here… in Nevers, there are so many open minded people, who are wishing broaden their horizons abroad. I think, nowadays English has become a tool in order to accomplish this”. “I personally would like to see more events like that being organized in Nevers” – added Jovita, “the cultural presentations could be the regular events in Nevers and give the opportunities to young people of Nevers to discover multicultural environment and, surely, practice English”.
